La chica vestida de gris

m3zzaluna:

the third avenue elevated train was torn down in 1955, and while the streets that it ran along were suddenly flooded with light, the manhattan landscape lost one of its most enduring features. bubley’s images were taken in 1951, a few years before the el train was demolished, and are very much a homage to the past.

the elevated trains were quickly forgotten, like the horse cars before them.

Color signatures of novels’ visual content by Jaz ParkinsonMore.  Looks like it may be possible to order prints, and even make requests!

(I just finished reading The Road and I can’t believe there is even THAT much color.)
